Professionally

My work as an Intuitive and Creative Coach and Mentor focuses on supporting visionaries to fulfil their path in life.

That can mean any number of things to you depending on your life experiences, but fundamentally, supporting your emotional growth is essential to your spiritual and creative one, so we tend the roots first to enjoy the flowers.

Spiritually, I facilitate an individualised journey of mind and body awareness including mindfulness, multi-modality energy healing, intuition, art therapy, existential and humanistic approaches alongside personal experience that builds connection, finds focus, reduces stress and creates emotional and somatic balance. As a result you develop sustainable techniques that help to heal your mind, body and soul for healthy relationships, identity, courage and a new-found understanding and confidence to step forward.

Creatively, I draw from my own lifelong professional and personal experiences as an illustrator, photographer, graphic designer and writer. Over the years I’ve had more self doubt than you can shake a stick at with challenges of overwhelm, visibility and voice that I’ve worked hard to overcome. Most of us were not conditioned to believe we could achieve what we put our minds to, and that creativity of any sort wasn’t a ‘real job’. To really flourish, you have to understand yourself psychologically as well as emotionally, and to support my process, I supply you with a journal to record your feelings, purpose, ideas, insights, clarity, introspection, reflection, intention, mission and moments of progress. I also have various art therapy tools alongside proactive design, visual and technical help for visibility and marketing.

Psychologically, I use continually evolving evidence based research, tools and skills. My coaching methodologies are based upon my qualifications in NLP, Neuro-Semantics and Meta Coaching with the addition of the Dialectical Behaviour Therapy skills of Matthew McKay, PH.D., Jeffrey C. Wood, PSY.D., and Jeffrey Brantley, MD., together with contributions from Acceptance and Commitment Therapeutic Practices by Timothy Gordon, MSW., and Jessica Borushok, PH.D., and acknowledging Trauma-Informed, GROW, Cognitive, Somatic Awareness mentoring and coaching models.

Continually, creativity is the breath in my body, the language I use and the mannerisms that make me both honour and smile at myself. I could never be without a camera, or excuse the time I spend rearranging a pixel or word for it to fully express myself in that moment. I engage in coaching that advances my own personal and professional growth, continual professional development (CPD) in the form of formal studies, books, research, videos, audio and training that provides unique and powerful strategies that help transform your life.

Volunteering

Somewhere between my practice and spare time, I’m also a volunteer Youth Mentor for the 14-month Project K programme with national New Zealand charity, The Graeme Dingle Foundation. The Charity leads the way in shaping the future of young people from the age of 5 to 15 with a range of programmes that build confidence, teach life skills, promote good health and encourage self efficacy and a positive mindset.

It is easier to build strong children than repair broken men
— Frederick Douglass

The mentorship empowers 14-15 year olds to build self belief, resilience and teaches life skills that promote a positive attitude. Each programme is designed to assist students to reach their full potential both educationally and recreationally with goal setting and team work that encompasses authentic listening, empathy, guidance, professional friendship, encouragement and being a sounding board.

Becoming a volunteer for this immensely valuable programme is a hugely rewarding experience that proactively helps make a positive difference in the lives of New Zealand’s young people.

Historically

My client-facing career has involved Graphic and Website Design, Publishing, Account Management, Coaching and organisation. My personal practice was born from coaching other creatives who mostly presented challenges rooted in rejection. Over time my focus evolved to assist clients in overcoming the issues that when both repressed and suppressed, remain in the soma making it almost impossible to lead a balanced life - let alone create.

Having suffered abandonment and emotional rejection trauma in my early years, I was acutely aware of how my experiences had shaped my personal and professional life, allowing resonance with my clients on a level deeper than any education I obtained could provide.

By combining psychospiritual coaching and mentoring with other modalities, it allows room for you to harness my insights, knowledge and skills of someone that has been there, whilst taking a much broader view of your own experiences and benefiting from the ultimate support framework and guidance.

Philosophically

It is part of my philosophy and mission to always use straight, simple down-to-earth language, to assist you in understanding your life purpose and patterns in the form of foundational therapeutic tarot readings.

I’ll resonate with you if you’re looking for a place of recognition, self-authority and identity, and if you have the intention to achieve peace of heart and mind with a voice you use with pride. This is where Energy Work and Taropeutic Sessions come in.

I practice to my values, honour my boundaries and walk my own spiritual path, not a religious one. My beliefs consists of an eternal source of all knowing, light, energy and love as the creator, and one that is home to us all. That we’ve chosen to be here for a reason and learn lessons that contribute to our soul’s knowledge and growth. These will change over your lifetime and I don’t believe there is simply one to master.

Spirituality + creativity are a journey, not a destination

If you’ve found you always seem to be stuck in a place where you feel you can’t step forward, I will:

  • support you where you’re at right now… and assist you in building your self worth, identity, resilience, confidence, acceptance, belonging and self expression.

  • help you to walk the talk… respecting your battle scars whilst our work together focusses on moving forwards. Being authentic and unique I meet you at wherever you are on your own path to pride, fulfilment, voice and recognition.

  • be your guide that understands… encourages, empowers and teaches you how to self-validate.

I believe you are here to make a difference in both your own life and that of others. To understand your fears and learn how to overcome them.

I invite you to understand your past, unleash yourself from it, accept who you are and live a life that’s true for you, because a) you deserve it, and b) time isn’t waiting for anyone unless you fancy doing it all over again in your next life in the style of Groundhog Day.

Pyschometrically
+ Purposefully

  • On Enneagram I’m a Four – The Individualist

  • On DISC - I’m D/I - Determined and Inspiring

  • Numerologically I’m a Master Number 11 - The Healer

  • Astrologically I was born on the cusp of Aries and Taurus with Scorpio rising

  • My Tarot life cards are Judgement and The High Priestess

  • I unapologetically commit to who or what I trust in and walk away from what I don’t. I’m organised, demonstrative, intuitive, slightly rebellious, romantic, polite, open-minded, honest, empathetic and a little bit sweary when inanimate objects refuse to play ball. I have a deep sense of knowing with a lot of my answers arising from what I affectionally call ‘God’s Phonebox’ - aka my shower. I follow my inner moral compass and trust in my higher guidance completely.

  • I refuse to live without freedom of expression, forests, oceans, affection, mutual love, trust, respect and loyalty, a good old fashioned down to earth sense of intelligent humour, and Marmite.

Personally

Starting life as an adoptee of the closed adoption 1970s era, my life didn’t get off to the best start. Over the years that followed, my existence was an uphill struggle with secondary emotional stress and challenges ranging from attachment, codependency and somatisation leading to a catalogue of bad decisions and consistent health issues.

I’ve been through the searches of both birth parents, experienced a range of reunions and transitions and learned to adjust to the impact those events had on my life. I wasn’t professionally helped through the minefield of emotions, nor with the repetition of stress the primal woundings had left me with.

It was with my natural attributes of resilience, sheer grit and determination that I solely embarked on a journey of self exploration, spirituality, personal and professional development, and somatic healing that took me through books, courses, qualifications, credentials and certifications that delivered me to the door of identity, awakening, gratitude, belonging and strengthening my creative and intuitive core.

I learned to belong to myself before I belonged anywhere else

As I say, life is unpredictably predicable, and whilst I knew from the age of around eight that I was born on the wrong side of the planet, I realised it was one of my purposes to break free of both my perceived and conditioned limitations to find my way home to New Zealand from England - an emigration journey that was guided by synchronicities and took 42 years.

We can’t always obtain the outcome we seek if it’s not in our highest good to receive it.

Instead we have to trust in the process and believe in ourselves. Something which is even more challenging to do when you feel you don’t know who you are in the first place.

  • I gave myself permission to learn who I was - which interestingly didn’t come from my initial expectations or from biological family reunion. I also gave myself permission to right the wrongs that could be corrected and accept those that couldn’t.

  • I learned self compassion and trust. I freed myself of shame and developed self worth from which my belief grew along with my sense of belonging. I learned to practice self love which led to self respect and personal boundaries.

  • I accepted that there is no such thing as an overnight cure. I committed to and practice daily within my ‘spiritual gym’, exercising the muscles that continue to strengthen my mind, body and soul.

I’m here to hold your hand until you can learn to hold it yourself, and be with you for wherever your journey takes you.
